To provide flexibility and improve usability, you can now define different time units in the duration fields (for example, Duration, Work, Actual Effort, etc.) in the Grid view. The default value for a column is set at the column level. Each column may have its’ own time format. You can overwrite that value directly in the grid by editing a specific cell.
Note: Unlike the numeric format, the duration value does not have global settings at the user or organization level.
SETTING TIME FORMAT FOR A COLUMN
To set the time format for a column:
- Click the icon for the desired duration field.
- In the Format section, click the Show link.
- In the Conditional formatting pop-up window, click the Clock icon and select the desired time format for the column.
SETTING TIME FORMAT FOR A CELL
You can also set the time format by editing value directly in a cell. The manually set value may be overwritten if the Keep manually set value property is not enabled. For more information about the property, see New Settings for Formatting Duration Values.
NEW SETTINGS FOR FORMATTING DURATION VALUES
The following new settings have been added to the column Format section:
|Add trailing zeros||Numeric and Duration||When enabled, to improve usability, all numeric values in the column display the trailing zeros, based on the number of decimal places defined in the format.|
|Keep manually set value||Duration||When enabled, manually set duration format for a cell is preserved, even when it is different from the default column format.|
