To start a discussion, do the following:
- Log into your Clarizen account.
- Click the
thin blue bar on the left-hand side to open up the Navigation panel.
- Click Social to open the Social module.
- Click Start a discussion...to compose a message. When composing your message, you can also accomplish the following:
5. Click Post to post the message.
Add a task to your post
You can initiate a project or facilitate a group collaboration by adding a task to your discussion post.
To add a task to your post, do the following:
- Go to the Social module.
- Click Start a discussion... to begin writing a message.
- Click Add task.
- Add as many details as you can to the task.
- Click Save to save the task to the post
OR
Save and New to add another task to the post.
Add a related object to your post
You can add any related task, file, milestone, project, work items, cases, customers, expense sheets, expense entries, Roadmap widget, Gantt widget, etc. to your post.
To add a related object to your post, do the following:
- Go to the Social module.
- Click the Start a discussion... text box to begin writing a message.
- Type + and start typing the object type to add it to the post
OR
Click Add Related to add a related object to your post.
Note: When adding new tasks, click Change under the task name to nest the task under a parent project/milestone/task to keep your tasks organized. This is especially helpful if the tasks have any dependencies or deadlines.
Notify specific groups or people of your post
You can alert specific groups or people of your post. They will receive a separate notification when you tag them.
To alert a specific group or person of your post:
- Go to the Social module.
- Click the Start a discussion... text box to begin writing a message.
- Type @ and begin typing a group or person's name to tag them
OR
Click Notify and start typing the name of a group or person.
Note: You can also search for groups or people to notify by clicking the more icon.
Add topics (hashtags) to your post
You can add topics (hashtags) to your post for easier reference later.
To add a topic to your post, do the following:
- Go to the Social module.
- Click Start a discussion... to begin writing a message.
- For new topics, you can type # to add a new topic on the fly (Click
Create Topic Test).
OR
Click Add Topics and begin typing a topic name.
Note: You can also click the more icon to search for topics and add them.
