Blocking File Types

What's New

For security reasons, Clarizen blocks by default a number of file types from being uploaded to the system. You can now add additional file types to block, based on your security requirements.

Benefits

  • Add additional file types to block as new security requirements arise
  • Block file types such as HTML, which can include scripts with malicious code

How it Works

Reminder

The default file type extensions that are blocked are:

.exe, .scr, .bat, .com, .vbs, .js, .vb, .cmd, .reg, .hta, .iso, .encrypted-rar, .lnk, .mdb, .torrent, .wri, .msi

A new Additional Unsupported File Types system setting lets you add additional file extensions separated by commas.
