It would be great if this request was worked by the product team.

Agreed.   I'm working on a custom API that will take any attached slides, and import them into our Google Drive.  This is a poor workaround, but it'll have to do for now.

Is there any update on the status of this request? We are pushed to use Google instead of Microsoft.

Does anyone know when this will be worked on. Our organisation only uses Google and we have to pay for powerpoint licences in order to be able to pull the slides off in slide publisher, upload to Google and then upload back on to the project.

Hey @Renate - I'd not be holding my breath.  The integrations in Slide Publisher are very specific to Powerpoint, and would not easily be converted over to Google Slides.

Recently I've moved away from Slide Publisher to Doc Publisher for a few reasons.  First it is able to render the document to PDF, so now all our reports go out in PDF format.  Second is that Word started correctly rendering the HTML (Rich Text fields) from Clarizen which is a huge win.  Third is that these reports paginate (ie. if data in a Rich Text field pushes the information over a page break in Word, it just works). And Forth - becuase of this pagination when you send the PDF document to Gmail (which we also use) it previews directly as an attachment without having to leave Gmail.

I use Word to edit the template, but in theory you would only need the users who edit templates to have the license. (as the PDF rendering happens on the Clarizen server side)    Hope this makes sense - please feel free to reach out to me if you wanted any more info on it's use.

Hey @Andy thanks for the feedback, its much appreciated. I had not heard of Doc Publisher until I saw your reply, and then a few hours later I got the Clarizen product update notification email from Clarizen and they mentioned it there. I will look into that and see if it will work for us. I know it will work for some of our documents, but we do have a Project on a Page template which sometimes has to be added to by the PM, so that one wont work. Its a shame we cant output directly to Google docs/slides/sheets etc. Maybe one day!?

Hey @Renate - you can output to Word format, as well as PDF.  So it's pretty flexible. (we just convert to PDF becuase we standardised the template some time ago)

When importing a powerpoint to google slides the status which is a green, yellow, red circle becomes the letter n.  I was wondering if there is way to distribute the slide content to a confluence page too.
