Stop watch

I am attempting to use the stop watch feature but I am allowed to clock in or out one employee per department at a time. How do I set up clarizen so I can have multiple employees use stop watch on a single tasks or job in a single group?

Hi Jim,

The stopwatch is not used to clock in/out resources. Each resource that is assigned to a particular task can use the stopwatch to report their time for that task. So if there are multiple resources assigned to one task each could use the stopwatch to report their time. If this is your use case then it would be a good idea to set your task reporting policy to 'individual'. You can access this setting by being logged into your account and clicking this link.

Thanks-ps

Hi Jim,

Can you clarify what you mean by "I am allowed to clock in or out one employee per department at a time."?

Is that something that is your company policy that you need to enforce? Or you believe this is a system limit? When you start a stopwatch, it's starting for you, not for another user. It's aimed at personal reporting, that's why a user can only open one stopwatch at a time.

However, a stopwatch is what we call a link, it sits between a user and a task. You could use a custom action to click on a task, select a user from a drop down and then create a stopwatch for them. Is that what you're trying to do?

Thanks,

David
