How to activate "contact person' entity in V6?

The new entity "Contact Person" is "switched off" and there is no switch in the layout panel (see attached). So- if I want to see what use can be made of this entity- how is it "switched on"?

There is no relevant documentation in the usr guide!

Hi Danny,


  Please ensure the "Customer" item type is enabled.  There is a Master-Detail relationship between Customer and Contact Person, so if  the Customer item type is disabled, the Contact iPerson item type will be disabled as well:
