Hello Ashie,
You may create shortcuts to other tasks.
When you select the current project in the project plan, you have the option to "Add" tasks, milestones etc and Shortcuts.
Then you can select any work item in the system which you would like to appear in the current project.
Then, as the other work item will be worked on, the progress will also show on the current project.
