You are not able to add custom fields for notes; however you will have new customization options for discussion posts in the future (which already have greater capabilities than notes in V6).

Adding a custom field on the notes
How can I add a custom field on the notes? I need to add a flag which indicates whether the note requires to be printed or not during report generation.

Well, I think that Notes have a separate place as some sort of "longer rich text description of the task than the Descriptions field but faster then an attached file" element :-)
To me, Notes and Discussions are two completely different things

I was meaning features like using hashtags to link objects, @ to send out instant email notifications, ability to create objects on the fly (and change their state from the discussion post), etc. I really love the new discussion posts in V6, but notes do indeed have their place as well!
