How can I edit the "work" field on a project without adding tasks?

For example, we planned out many projects for the next quarter. We estimated the effort days (which I would put into the "work" field) but haven't planned out tasks and subtasks. It seems the only way the general project "work" field only gets populated once tasks are added in, but is there anyway to edit that without tasks?

Hi Sima,

Thank you for reaching out.

You will be able to update Work on tasks (child items only). The work column is locked at the project/milestone level as the work value is a roll up from subitems (tasks).
