Thank you for posting this on the Forum. You are correct, you cannot export to excel from the Approval Module, only Print. I will submit this as a Feature Request for you.

Now that I think about it, you should be able to run a Time Tracking Report (i.e. Total Reported Hours by User Per Project). These reports are shown in Excel format. Please take a look and see if they provide you the information you are looking for.

I do use this report as well, the reason I asked for the approval to be exported as it is a clean report which summarizez the information that I need to submit for my payroll, I have to do some total calculations manually so I was looking for a way to export to excel. The Total reported hrs has a lot of manipulating i need to do to it in order to have only the infor I need. I only use the Column set to People for the approvals.

in this case you will need to use the Excel Plugin which provides a higher level of reporting and should provide the functionality you are looking for, though at a cost.
The other option is waiting for our improved Reports module later this year, but it is not guaranteed that your needs will be met but I can look into it for you if you wish.
