Custom Action: form capability in configure section

Currently when creating a custom action where you require user input, the form is generated vertically only.  When requiring input in the form of a "toggle, numeric, percent, date or duration" they typically do not actually require the full line of space. The new adjustment in dragging and dropping line items is great. It would be nice to see the ability to have two variables on one line for forms that may require more information. Any thoughts of making this sections more dynamic similar to the dashboard updates as far as drag and dropping into 1,2,or 3 sections?  This would prevent the user from having to scroll thus making them less inclined to utilize the form.

Please see example attachment of toggles, dates and numeric entires taking up far more space than is needed.
