Is it possible to view external dependencies on a project

If you have created a shortcut in Project A (Shortcut A-1) to a milestone in Project B (called Milestone B-1), the dates and progress of Milestone B-1 is obviously visible in Project A (because of the shortcut).

Is it possible to view in Project B that there is an external link to Milestone B-1 (from Project A)? This is so that the Project Manager of project B can have visibility of which projects his / her milestone is impacting? - Almost like a 'reverse' shortcut view...?

Interesting scenario. I know that you can make a dependency between Project A and Project B and see either the predecessor or successor as either a field or related panel. Creating a dependency would be a quickest way to get this type of visibility. You can also do this with advanced customizations that our PS team can help you with.
