Did not hear about this option, at least out-of-the-box. Contact Clarizen as I'm sure it can be added with code.

Set Default Filter for "Discussions" pane in Project detail view
Hi Guys,
The case is, a Custom Pick-list type field is added to Discussion Message which is going to be used as Custom Message Type.
It is supposed that user can apply filter on this field to list out related discussion messages and we would like to make this field as Default filter for Discussion Message.
However, it seems there is no configuration for adding filter field and setting default filter value for Discussions.
So my question is, is there any method to fulfil the requirement?
