For plan vs actual, usually the comparison would be one after the work has been completed versus on a calendar. Work Variance is the difference between the planned Work and Actual Effort, so this is an ideal out-of-the-box field to use. You can find Work Variance on Tasks, Milestones, and Projects.

Is there a view where I can see the planned vs actual work on a monthly or weekly basis, in a similar manner to the Financial Planning view?
Clarizen has the data because I found a report called Project Utilisation, but this is a clunky report. It would be far more useful as a project view.
