Custom Action - Error "Too Many Nested Relations in Field"

I'm working on customizing an email message for the Project Status Report custom action. When I go to save, I get a validation error saying "Too many nested relations in field, maximum allowed is 1"

 

I'm not sure what the problem is. I can share the email body if needed.

As an added FYI, all of my Set Actions didn't have any syntax errors. I have a set action of "Conditional Action list" with 1.1-1.7 for setting new variables

Hello Patty,

Could you post details about your Custom Action?

Like, on what type are you creating the Custom Action? What are the actions you are using? As you suggested, you can share the email body too.

I tried to reproduce the problem, but with no success so far.
