There is a new portfolio object coming out later this year that might fit the bill.

FollowNew object request: a blank container without particular properties
Hi,
The more complex the organization is, the more we need to organize the data (i.e. projects), for the sake of matching the structure of the organization or to create clusters or to structure projects in groups that are not necessarily programs or portfolios. Today in Clarizen, there are only 3 objects that are available for that purpose: Project, Task and Milestone.
I currently invite my users to pick the object "Project" as container, and to change the icon to something that represents the purpose of the organization. Tasks are naturally not seen as a container. Milestones are not relevant for that purpose either - and we can't have a milestone in a milestone.Yet, in the end Project as such container is not satisfactory and creates confusion in the mind of the users.
I'd like to offer them to pick a "neutral" container, which doesn't necessarily roll-up information and that is "transparent" to the whole structure of projects, yet offers a possibility to organize projects in groups. This object/container would not need to have cases attached to it (like risks, issues), neither files, timesheet, expenses etc...that is to say very limited properties.
Would this help any one of you too?
Regards,
Chris

Can we have an update on the status of this request? Is there a Portfolio object?
