I upvote this, we have exactly the same need. The use case for us is to be able to show a (searchable) Master Project list so people can see the public name of the project, the project manager, and contact information to the PM, but NOT be able to see anything ELSE. For example, someone says "I am trying to find the PM of Project Viking" and we want them to be able to identify that person without being able to access project details. The closest we've been able to get is to create a report and then share it as a Widget, adding the hyperlink to the Widget as a Custom Page. Since widgets can allow drill down if someone has permissions, this works perfectly - except there is no way to search it.
Tim, I am intrigued by the "Scheduled Export" - any more detail on that would be helpful :-)

FollowSharing Reports in Enhanced Permission Mode
Hello,
I am looking for a way to share reports in enhanced mode that would allow users to see all of the reported items regardless of their role or non-role.
The use case is taking the aggregate of all the information and creating reports that anyone in the company can access and view. In enhanced mode the users only see things they have some sort of role on. This is useful when working on things like task lists and project details. However, the restriction carrying into the reports without some means of over-riding those restriction makes the reporting module less effective. As an example if I want a report that would list specific details for all projects of a particular type to be seen by everyone in the company I must use a scheduled export in place of a real-time report. Adding the "Running User" option to the real-time reporting would cover a good portion of this I would think. That with the enhanced mode permissions preventing drill-down or alteration as applicable would be very handy.
Does anyone have another suggestion?

Hi Jason, thanks for the vote. On the scheduled export, it is possible in a report that is scheduled for export to set a "Running User" option. This runs the report as if that user and their profile and access to elements is in place. You can then set the list of recipients and the report is generated, in my solution in excel, and emailed to the group. Since the report can be using any "Running User" within the system, it contains as much or as little of the information you want it to.
I do think however that now with Permission Access Levels I may be able to replace that with a online real-time report if I a prepared to do the set up required and live with the additional access that would be granted. I think I would need to create a group and add the right users, then for each element type in the report allow a View Permission on that element for the new group. This I think would have the desired result of allowing the other users to see the report details. However, it will also have the effect of allowing them to view the element in it's own or other modules to which the users within the new group do have access to. So, if I am not comfortable with allowing them to drill-down as an example on the project and seeing the project details, then the Permission Access Levels are still not meeting the exact use case need.
Hope that helps.
