Is it possible to stop users from creating their own views

Hi,

I would like to set which views a user can use, with pre-defined fields etc. This works however, users always seem to be able to create their own new view which would allow them to see other fields/projects etc.

I know I can set which fields users can use in the profile setting, however, I would like them to have access to a field, but only if it applies to them.

eg project managers can only see and create projects of their department. This would mean that under project type the department is set and in a view a filter is applied that can't be edited - and I have what I wanted. However, there is nothing stopping the user to create a new view with a  different filter...

I know that I can stop users from changing views, but that is not quite the same as I would like them to be able to use multiple views, just not be able to create new ones.

Thanks

I don't believe so. One note that users cannot manipulate the views to access any data that they do not already have permissions to access.

Thanks, Josh. It was more a way of restricting what projects etc. people are able to see via views. However, now with the permission access level setting and profiles, I can achieve the same in a much more robust way actually.
