The formatting of reports as provided in Clarizen is limited.
It would be useful if a preview of the report, scheduled or not could be formatted by the user to the users liking.
We have seen over the course of time for a scheduled report to change formatting due to the increase or decrease of items being reported on and the loss of information due to column width decreased by Clarizen to accommodate.
We have taken to sending out the Excel format instead of pdf for this reason.

I agree.
I suggest you use the Excel add-in as a workaround until this functionality is introduced. This way you can set up a tab with the formatting you need (e.g. using a pivot), and just update the tab with the data.
