You can do validation rules around Financial Permissions. For example, you can make it so that a field is visible by all users but can only be edited by those with Financial Permissions (or Admin, or Super User, or any combination of these).
Financial User field: Separate 'View' and 'Edit' options.
We have some custom fields that we only want to be editable by our Accounting team (e.g. "Deposit Received" toggle). Those fields we have set for Financial users only... but doing so means that non-financial users cannot 'see' the fields either. Non-financial users receive a notification but also need to be able to review projects for whether, for example, the deposit was received.
It would be very beneficial if there were separate checkboxes on custom fields to specify whether the field can be Viewed or Edited only by Financial users.
