Hi there,
I have an update:
The ChangeState action for time-sheets doesn't support the automatically approved time-sheets.
We will enable this in the next possible hotfix.
If you have timesheet approvals enabled, it will work now.
Add another action change state = submitted
Roni
Hi again,
Actually there is simple solution!
Just have the action this way: change state = approved
The timesheet entries will automatically be approved.
Did this work out for you?
Roni
Thank you Roni. I tried this and it did work! Note to other users, you will have to make sure that the object the Change State action is running on is not CurrentObject() as this was the default for me. The Change State action will need to run on NewObject1. Also, when you test this for the first time, it will appear as if the hours recorded but did not approve. That is because the ChangeState action is a qued action (per the fine print on the custom actions creation form). Once you refresh your screen, the hours will show as approved.
Thanks again!
How exactly do you set this up? This would solve a big headache for me -- I have to go and check to make sure people are remembering to hit Submit ...
As an aside, if approvals are turned off, the Submit button should not be necessary.
Thank you Ashley for the update and the elaborate explanation on queuing for the sake of all the Clarizen community.
Ariel,
we will publish the mini-timesheet (with auto -submit) application soon on Clarizen apps.
If you can't wait, we will love to explain how to build this rule in one of our daily advanced Q&A.

As for removing the Submit button when approvals are turned off, I will put in a feature request for you.
Roni
I did in fact install the App, and it works, but the auto-submit function does not work. If I use it to enter hours I still have to go into the timesheet and Submit (even if the box is checked off).
Hi Ariel,
As Ashley mentioned above, the Change State action is queued in our job server, so it can take some time for the approval to appear in timesheet. But you can rest assured it will be approved. (worst case should be about a minute wait)
Nevertheless, I have alerted R&D and they are already working on improving the execution time for this action.
Thanks for bringing this up
Roni
Also, if you want the reported hours in the timesheet screen to be automatically submitted and approved, you can create a WR to do that.
I suggest you join our advanced webinar, if you need assistance with that.

Thanks, I noticed that it just took some time after I posted that message. The worst case is a lot longer than a minute though. I've had this issue about updating sometimes when I change a lot of budget items on a project too -- I'll get that calculating exclamation point on my project item, and I've had it last for over 24 hours in some cases. Improving that would be nice.
We had an issue with the calculating exclamation point soon after the new release but that has been resolved already.
Thank you for the tutorials that show how to update time from the current project or work items views.
where do i see the tutorial for this?
