Duration...Hours vs days

I'm trying to enter a project with hours instead of days....I have tasks and subtasks.  I enter the parent task with hours in the duration, then I enter the subtask with hours and it converts the parent task back to days.

Is there anyway to keep everything as hours?

Just enable the Work column and use it beside your Duration column. Work is the columns that we use for estimated amount of hours that we believe should be used for a specific task/subtask. The duration is calculated automatically based on the resource(s) and their calendar availability. The days that are displayed in the Duration column is the actual number of days it will take based on the resource(s) assigned to the task(s).
