My team noticed that when a project has a subproject, and the subproject is managed by someone other than the Project Manager for the master project, the project manager for the master project cannot make changes to the subproject.
This might be a "feature request" instead of a "need help" post, but I am not sure if this feature is functioning properly or if this is a bug?

This is exactly the intended functionality. These permissions are hierarchical, so if someone is only a PM or Manager on a subproject, they will not have permissions at the parent project level. The hierarchical permissions go down the hierarchy, not up.

I understand that the manager of a subproject wouldn't have permission to modify the parameters of the parent project. However, under this scenario, we have a manager of the parent project and a different manager of the subproject. The manager of the parent project cannot change the parameters of the subproject because they are not the manager, even though they are the manager of the parent project. Maybe this is by design, but it seems like it might be something that should be explored.

Which parameters in particular? And just to be clear this is the project manager, or the person that is in the manager column at the parent project level? Thanks!
Yes- this is the manager of the parent project. It was discussed that they cannot change start/end dates of the sub project or add tasks to it if they are not the manager of the subproject.
