The action you described is not triggered automatically. You have few choices to trigger reporting resources involved in the project:
You can install an application from our App market place called - Email Notification Manager. It will allow sending email notifications under several scenarios.
You can also request sending an update where you will get notification on your progress on the tasks assigned. Here you can find more information regarding email notifications: http://usermanual.clarizen.com/#email-notifications
