Hi
I had a question that I have been waiting for Clarizen to get back to me for a while. Can you advise how I should proceed regarding this question/issue?

Naomi,
Your response to the post was not logged in the system. Did you just reply to a notification email that your received? Unfortunately these do not push back into the community, so this is the first we have seen your questions about opening a case.
For a deeper investigation, yes you would have to open a case. However, can you also tell me what the CPI is for that particular work item? This is what drives the financial status field.
Josh
Hi Josh
Sorry for late reply. Yes, I replied to my e-mail notifications. Now I know where the thread is. Where can I find CPI? Or should I open a case?
Ah there you are =). I believe I emailed you this answer as well (hopefully it went to the right person). If you go to a work item’s properties (right click >> properties) you can access CPI from the Finance tab as seen in the screenshot below:
Hi Josh
Please see the numbers below. Since we are customer side, it should not show profit (especially negative profit). How can I fix it so that Clarizen only look at Budget cost vs. Actual cost?

The difference between budgeted cost and actual cost is the Cost Balance field. You can also create a custom financial field with any formula you would like. Profit is Actual Revenue minus Actual Cost, so you can ignore this field if you do not need it.
Hello
If I create a custom filed that is Cost (Budgeted minus Actual Cost), can financial indicator used for the cost variance? i.e. Green if Actual cost is lower than Budgeted, Red if Actual cost is higher than Budgeted?
Yes, this is entirely possible. You would need a custom field (picklist) for the indicators and then either a workflow rule or scheduled workflow rule that would set it based on budget vs. actual costs (there is already a field for this called Cost Balance).
Thanks! I also attended Q& A session and got some ideas. i am good now :)
