Editing of notes

We would like to use Notes for holding information about how we access customer sites and server since it's possible to use rich text (which you cannot in a custom field, in which case this would be moot).

The problem is that if one person has filled in this information, it's not possible to edit by another. Is there any way this can be done?

Discussions are not better use since here you can only reply and not edit either.
