How can I edit a report that has been created by someone else?

Someone else created a report for me which I'd like to adapt. Though, if I save the edited report, it's always saved as an own. private report. I can't overwrite the original document.

In order for you to make a public report, you need to be a superuser or admin.  If you are not able to access these rights, then the best thing to do would be take some screenshots of the report properties and send them to the user to copy.
