Is there a way to label tasks or flag them so that we can generate a report showing only flagged tasks and their percent complete across all projects? For example, we have a set of tasks that reoccur for each project so lets call it "taskGroup1" can I search all projects for the "taskGroup1" tasks and generate a report by project to the "taskGroup1" level showing % completion.

Yes, this is very easy to do. You can use any of our existing fields (such as task type) or create your own fields and use those as a filter. If your tasks are named exactly the same, then you can do this already without any additional effort. Just go to "Tasks" and filter based on name (use the column header).
