I'd like to ensure that all users are using the Default View that I have created when within "project detail".
It seems that it's worked for Projects view... but not working for Project Details... can I as an admin push the project details default view to all? Where do I go to do this?

You can, but you can't change the view that they have set. They would still have to go to the upper left and change the view to what you want them to be in. You can make a view public by editing the view and in the Sharing dropdown select "All Users." If you create a new view make sure the Sharing is set to this and it will be accessible to everyone.
Ok - so I can make a global view, but for Project details I cannot set the default view for all users - what I'm seeing is that users are defaulting to the "basic view". I need to inform all users to change and save their default to the view that I've created for our business?

It's a bit simpler than that, the system saves the last view you were in automatically. So the instructions involve only one step, changing the view to the new default.
Is this behavior still identical for the newest version with the new user profiles? Is there any way to set the system so that when a user first logs in they always see the default view, regardless of where they last set it? One of my concerns is always less technical users who might change a view, and then be continually seeing a view that doesn't even show them all that they need to see, without realizing they need to change it back.

Unfortunately you cannot force a view to be the default if the user changes the view themselves. What you can do is create a view catered for each profile and eliminate all of the unnecessary views for each profile that you create.
