How can you map Customer names to a Data Loader import for Issues?

I am using data loader to import issues from our old system into Clarizen. For some reason, I cannot get the Customers to map with the spread sheet. The customer name is in the system and the field is mapped correctly, but Clarizen will not acknowledge the customer name. Any idea why?
