The cell for Estimated start date, Estimated End date, Baseline Start date are locked.

The Actual Start Date field should not be locked and you can manually set it. The Estimated Start Date field, however, is an auto-calculated field so this should locked. To populate the baseline fields, you may select your project in the grid, then go to the Misc sub menu of the work plan, and click on Save as baseline. Please let me know if this answers your question.

Well, when i follow this advice and click on Misc, the only option is to save as a template. Baseline is not an option....
