Where do I input the sold value of the project?

I'm not certain which field I should use to input the currency value that we sold the project for (to our customer) in the project properties card, so the financial reporting functions properly.

Carla,

I would need to better understand the structure of your Projects and how you use the financial fields.

Do you use the financial Fields?

Are there any entries within the Project that would have to be calculated into the final "cost" of the Project (whether adding or subtracting)?

Please provide as much detail as possible for a proper resolution.

If you just need a field on the Property card that allows you to enter the Sold Value, I suggest simply creating a Custom Field and manually enter it. You can then report on this field.

Hi Boris

Yes, we do use Financial fields. I've added a custom field for the sold value and I also have a value for expected vendor costs. I've been inserting expected vendor cost into the Direct Planned Expenses field; it would be subtracted from the sold value. Is this correct or will I need to handle expected vendor cost differently?

Carla,

In order for the "Sold" custom field and "Expected Vendor Costs" to reflect the correct fields, you will need modify them so that the values are based on a formula and in this case it would be something like this...

First you need to use a different field for the original cost value, maybe call the custom field "Original Cost Value" or use an existing field like Fixed Cost. Then you would create the "Cost" Custom Field with a formula like this...

Cost = $C_Original Cost Value - $C_Expected Vendor Costs

You can also replace the first custom field with $FixedCost if you selected to use that field instead as your original Cost Value.

Also, check out the following article that provides more details on Standard Budget fields that are already available to you...

Hope this helps
