Approving Non Project Related Tasks

Morning all,

I'd like to know how people are handling non project related tasks and approving them.

For example, we track all time, not just project time, so people have to record such things as holidays, training, sickness, personal admin, etc.

However, I cant see a way for their direct manager to approve this time without them also being able to approve all time on all projects, which only the PM should be able to do.

I have seen this done in many ways. The most common is to make a Project called Admin (specify the Project Manager and add a Time Entry Task for each Resource, requiring them to add time there. If you have your settings configured appropriately, only the PM of the Project will be able to approve the time or the Direct Manager of the Resource (if option is set), etc...
