Baseline

Hi,

I know you can save a project as a baseline to compare other projects with, but I was wondering if there was a way to create baselines within projects. I would like to save all the dates and effort I enter at the beginning of the project, and then as the project progresses, if I need to change any of that, to return to what the original plan was and compare that. Is that possible?

Hi Sima,

Could you clarify by what you mean by creating a baseline within projects? Do you mean, for example, having two baselines in a project so you can compare to another?

Hi Tom,

For example if at the beginning of the project we believed it would be done a month from now, and as the project progresses we end up changing that deadline, it would be nice to see the original estimate we put in. Something like that, if that makes sense..

Sima,

You can only have one Baseline based on a Template Project you initially create. It is not possible to make updates or have iterations of the Baseline. This functionality would be considered a Change Request. Please let us know if you wish to submit it for you.
