can you give an assistant a permission setting to see all her boss's items?

This is possible. You would want the assistant to have "Super User" permissions. However, please note that this gives visibility for all work items in the Clarizen environment.

Thanks for the response -- this will work.  I would still appreciate if you could float this request to the development team.  A "designees" field would be great to have, so that I don't have to grant Super User permission for folks who need to just get to their Exec's work items and reports.
