Is there any way to display the description field in the Quick Update screen?

The quick update screen is awesome for getting people to easily provide updates for tasks to which they have been assigned. However sometimes the name itself is not enough context to refresh peoples memory - especially when they have a lot of tasks assigned to them. Is there any way to display the description below the task name, or as a pop up?

Thanks,

Philip

Hi Philip,

You can do this by going to "Settings > Profiles > Master Profile > Work Item > Tasks" and there you can change the layout of the quick update field. I think that you would need to turn off the "Name only in inline mode" so it can contain more information. Please refer to my screenshots.

Hi - I made this change but it doesn't look like it worked. I have attached a screenshot showing the Task name but the absence of any description. Thanks,

Philip

Hi Philip,

Ahhh you are talking about the email quick update. I assumed you were talking about the quick add/update of new tasks. I apologize. This is actually not configurable since it is a system generated email. We do have a feature request regarding this.

Ok Thanks. This is important when dealing with large numbers of projects within a portfolio, 3-4 levels deep. Any idea when this will get implemented? Otherwise it is easy to confuse one task with another...
