Projects: Notifications of Updates

Is there a method of receiving notifications automatically when a task is edited? Ie as a PM if someone else has updated dates, resources etc on tasks, it would be desirable to get a notifcation of this - not just that the task has changed, but in what way and by whom and when etc.

Being as strong as you are with customizations, I am surprised you have not looked at creating a custom Workflow Rule to do this. At the same time, you may want to consider our Audit Trail and Stay Tuned apps from the Apps Marketplace which will monitor changes to work items. Stay Tuned even creates a thread named Recent Activity and logs changes there for you to see. Here are the links to the Apps...

For the record - Stay Tuned is renamed "Activity Stream" which is the current industry naming for this capability.
That also means that the link is updated too and and the old Stay Tuned one is now out of date.
