To turn this off, you would need to go to the property bar and search for "Work Policy" and turn on Fixed Work instead of Fixed Duration. However, to better assist you, could you provide us with your use case?

When our users are working with projects and need to extend the duration of a given work item because of scheduling the Work also extends. If we change it to fixed work is it going to extend the duration of we extend the work?

Lance, This is Work Policy and has three parts...
Work, Duration and Unit (Unit% or time allocation of Resource for Task).
With Fixed Duration, any changes will adjust work (unless manually set which means Unit will be automatically adjusted. If Fixed Work is set, changing Work will automatically adjust Duration unless manually set then it will change Unit for Resource(s). Please also review the tutorial on this...
