Time and Expense user wants to create an expense sheet, then link the work topic

Cannot navigate to appropriate work topic.  Is this a user / permission issue? Our admin can do it.

Hi Natalie,

Time and Expense user should be able to add a topic to an expense sheet. See link: http://screencast.com/t/fxIpYcKBiTh

T&E user should be also able to add a topic to the discussion of en expense sheet. See link: http://screencast.com/t/DzLjZqNIsR6H .  Click on Add Topics and add a new topic or click on 3 dots ... to select one from your existing topics.

Can you elaborate on the issue you are facing? Is the button greyed out for the T&E user?

All the best,

Diana

Sorry if I wasn't clear Diana. Time and expense user cannot log within the expense sheet an expense against a work item. They can navigate to the related project but can't go any deeper than that on the hierarchy. So their expense never gets logged according to the accurate work item--only the parent project

Natalie,

If they cannot go any deeper, ie to the Task where they will be logging the Expense, they may not be a resource on that work item. Please confirm this. Also, there is a setting that may be restricting access unless the user has explicit access as a Manager or Resource. This setting is called Permission Level within (System Setting--> Organization, Users, Licenses). Be sure this is set to Basic, if Advanced you may come across these issues.

If the issue persists, please open a ticket and we will help you troubleshoot the issue.

Sincerely,

Boris

Hi boris, thanks for your comment

Checked system settings -- it is set to Basic.

Added them as a resource. Still can't drop down the project to its dependents in the work item.

I will open a ticket

thanks
