How do I assign a 'Manager' & 'Resource' to a more than one Task and/or Milestone at a time?

I have created a project template with NO resource assignments (although the template is the same for each project the specific resources will change). When we create a new project using the template, we find out selves having to assign a resource to each task one at a time. This is very time consuming and frustrating.So, my question is:

  • How to I assign a resource to multiple tasks - without having to do it one at a time? (i.e. Select all the items I want a specific resource assigned to and select that resource)

I also have a similar issue with Milestones. We assign a  'Manager' who is responsible for a Milestone and for insuring the tasks/sub tasks are completed. But I notice the 'Manager' of the Milestone does not trickle down to be 'Manager ' of the tasks under that Milestone.

  • Is it possible to have a Milestone 'Manager' be automatically be assigned as the 'Manager' of the tasks & sub tasks under that Milestone?
  • Or, how do I assign 'Manager' to multiple tasks? (similar to my question about assigning resources)

You can assign one resource, select the cell, Ctrl+C to copy it, then use Ctrl+V to paste that assignment in multiple cells just like Excel.  You can do this with with most fields, including Owner and Manager.
