Great question! You should be able to see tasks on your timesheet that are:
1) Reportable
2) Active
3) You are a resource on those tasks
Please find more info here about setting your tasks as reportable: http://usermanual.clarizen.com/4-3-7-4-time-report-settings$Setting%20Work%20Items%20as%20Reportable. I would also recommend to create a view for your work plan and add these 3 time-tracking settings: Reportable, Allow Reporting on Sub-Items, Actual Effort Updated from Timesheet. This will help you easily manage your time-tracking settings. To add these fields, click on a gear icon >> manage and simply add from available fields to your selection.
