How do I add a project custom field to my SFDC integration

What are the required steps to add a custom field created in Clarizen to be mapped in the sync to SFDC?

  1.  Added field in Clarizen to Project - DONE

  2.  Refreshed metadata (none of these fields showed up as available fields to map From Clarizen) - DONE but nothing seemed to happen?

  3.  Do I have manually add the fields into SFDC?

  4. Then what?

Denise,

It is not enough to simply create the custom field in Clarizen. You need to create the mapping in SFDC and to do this, you will need to be a SFDC Administrator.

Note that the mapping is different depending on the integration (i.e. SFDC Integration v2 or SFDC Integration v3).

Sincerely,

Boris

I did refresh the metadata but I don't see any of my new custom fields in the Clarizen object.  Do I need to also create them directly in SFDC and then map them - I do have SFDC admin rights?  (Posting this in Forum as I would imagine others may also have this question)    We are V3 integration so I know where the mapping is - just not seeing my Custom fields show up.

Hi Denise,

My apologies for the confusion, yes, if you add a field to Clarizen which does not already have a corresponding field in Salesforce, then  you will need to add it to Salesforce as well. The steps to add a brand new field not available in either systems are:

  1. Add field to CLZ or Salesforce

  2. Add field to opposing system if corresponding field does not already exist

  3. Click 'Refresh Metadata' in Salesforce>Clarizen Integration Setup>Advanced Settings
