Two Quick Question

1) Can you make a custom field required, specifically on the time entry? For our support projects we would like our users to enter the customer they are working on.  Without making it required though, user error happens.

2) How do I remove all of the holidays from our system?

Lance,

See responses below...

1) Can you make a custom field required, specifically on the time entry? For our support projects we would like our users to enter the customer they are working on.  Without making it required though, user error happens.

Yes - This can be handled in 2 parts...

Part 1 - Create a Custom Field at the Timesheet Item Type called Customer. Once Created, go to Settings --> Layout and Select Timesheet from left panel. Click on Field Layout --> Add Mode / Edit Mode --> Edit. You will see the new Custom Field on the left and you will be able to add it to the panel which will pop up when a user adds time in time sheet module.

Part 2 - Create a Validation Rule that specifies that the Custom Field you created cannot = null (must contain a value). If you want a further fail safe, you can create the custom field as a pick list or a reference to an object and pick the actual Customers. If left blank, the Validation rule will not save the time and show red with an exclamation mark.

2) How do I remove all of the holidays from our system?

You would need to look at your Calendar and see how the Holidays were created. There is a Holiday App that can be used to add them in which case you can simply deactivate the custom fields and workflow rules associated with them. The other option is to manually change them on the Calendar in the Organizational, Project, Group and/or User levels
