We have a team of nine (which I created a sub-group for) that will be working on five different projects. Each team member needs to be added as resources to each of these projects. Is there a way to add all nine people to all five projects at the same time or do I need to go into each project and assign?

Yes, you can do this by going to the User Group module. Highlight the group that you want assigned to Project(s) and then click on Add Related and select Projects. Go through the steps to search and select the desired Projects to link the Group to the 5 desired projects.
