Actually- the data for Customers and suppliers is similar, both require also contact persons- so just change the name of the entity and have the entity type field distinguish between supplier and customer.
In fact- as an IT unit- our customers are part of the organization (for which there is the organization- user groups), but this is not suitable for (our) suppliers, which are involved in our projects and cases!
The documentation (in V66 user manual) for customers module is poor, no mention of contact persons (and what capabilities they have).

The ability to create custom entities / items is definitely on our roadmap and along with new reporting are our top priorities right now. This functionality would let you duplicate an entity and rename it as well as create custom entities from scratch. I don't have an ETA but can tell you that it won't be in 2013.

My request/ suggestion was rather modest- just to use the data structure created for customers also for suppliers, The more extensive functionality was talked about in 2012 and maybe it will be in 2014- but a solution is needed sooner, especially as there is NO solution for suppliers in Clarizen. Looking at V6 I'm surprised that some other functionality was included (such as "Likes"), which is not "basic" in project management but support for entities such as suppliers (and information systems), which are basic, is still missing. It seems like someone did not do proper system & business analysis.
Danny, I do not appreciate the comment that someone did not do proper system & business analysis. The product team prioritizes features based on a variety of factors such as customer popularity, internal popularity, effort required to implement (design, engineering, QA), etc, and a tremendous amount of planning went into deciding which features were included in the v6 release. Adding a new entity is not as simple as copy/pasting the customer module and to set your expectations I really do not anticipate this being released until after custom entities are available.
I think Danny has a point, and its now Oct 2014 and we still don't see any mention of suppliers anywhere? do we have any idea on an ETA

As an update to this request, this will be available with the release of Custom Entities. This is not fully planned and therefore not on the Roadmap yet but may be available in Q2 2015.
I hope this option will be available soon. It's kind of essential to be able to define supplier in the system. Once we waiting for the update, is there any way to go around it?
