I hear you. These types of reports should be available with in a matter of months. Enhanced reporting and dashboards is the #1 product priority now that V6 has been fully rolled out.

Customizable Reports that link Timesheet data and Project
Out of the box reports that show timesheet and project data ( a version of the project summary report that allows you to add and remove columns)
