Create Case Team from Related Work Item

So that users assigned to a particular work item are able to get to cases that are related to those work items, I'd like to create a workflow rule that creates a case team link and adds team members based on the related work item's assigned resources.  Any suggestions on how I can get this to work would be great.  Thanks!

Hello Ashley, I too would like to write the same workflow rule, were you able to get any traction? Would like to hear about your lessons learned.
Many thanks

Hi Keith. Actually I did, and my recommendation to you is that if your users get email alerts, don't do it. I'd be more than happy to share with you how it was done, but we disabled it very quickly because any time a case was associated at the project level, all resources for that project regardless of function were also assigned to the case, and vice versa. It created a notification nightmare.

That would be nice to see and a great knowledge share and thanks for the tip ( to many notifications is also a huge concern here too)

There was an app that Tamir suggested to me. I don't see it in the apps marketplace, so it might have been something he wrote himself and published to me, but it's called Sync Project Pool and Case Team. It created 5 WF rules that managed this function. I just realized I can't add any attachments in this thread so I can't send you the screenshots here.

I too surfed the apps as I am sure others have had the same concerns or needs - but did not see such an app....

Hi Keith,

As Ashley said there is no published app for that right now. You can use this unpublished app as a baseline that you can work of and configure it based on your needs. I do understand you concerns around notifications and I suggest to use the unfollow action after the case team link creation and unfollow the users that should be receiving discussions email notifications.

Here's the unpublished app: https://app2.clarizen.com/Clarizen/View/Default.aspx?id=7c789qotowts1cg0f1zxtlqpy685&type=Published+Application&ver=v6

Good luck!
Tamir
