We use the Resource Load report quite extensively in my team, and are looking into the potential to automate some of the reports we generate on the back of this, to save having to manually download the excel report and transpose it etc.
Is there any way to pull this type report via the API (supplying just the resources, date range, and planned/remaining flag), without needing to "build it from scratch" as it were?

Try the ResourceManagementQuery . This one provides resource load information through the API.
