Expected Revenue

Expected Revenue

Authorized users can see a work item’s Expected Revenue in the Revenue or Extended Budget view of either the Work Items page or the Current Project page or in the Properties of the work item.

The system automatically calculates Expected Revenue of the work item having sub-items as a sum of:

  • Accumulative Expected Revenue of the sub-items or Fixed Price, if defined for the work item
  • Planned Billed Expenses (see more about Expenses in the  Work Item Financial Data section)

Expected Revenue of the “leaf” work item is calculated as a sum of:

  • Work planned for specific resource multiplied by the respective hourly Billing Rates of the resource or Fixed Price, if defined for the work item
  • Planned Billed Expenses (see more about Expenses in the  Work Item Financial Data section)

To ACTIVATE this formula field, the work-item must be marked as Billable.

User can:

  • See the amount allocated to the selected work item.
  • Manually enter the price (revenue) of the work item. In this case, the cell is marked by a blue triangle. This value overrides the accumulative value of the sub-work items and it will be used to calculate the revenue of work items higher in its hierarchy.
  • Clear the Manually set indicator (blue triangle), thereby letting the system recalculate the revenue values automatically.
