Allow a task to have multiple managers

We run multiple shifts each with peer supervisors. For most projects it is unknown when a task will become active so guessing which shift supervisor to assigns the task's manager is dicey. If the guess is wrong, the other supervisors may not have visibility to the fact the task became active or can't assign resources to the task.

I can't be the only one with this issue. Does a workaround exist or is a fix planned?

Hi Peter,

This is a great suggestion! We actually have something in the works for this but there is no ETA for when this will be released.

We have a similar issue and have been waiting close to a year for this feature. Hopefully more companies will push for this as I have not been able to come up with a reasonable workaround either.

Hi Peter,
I understand your request, yet I think the Title is misleading. My understanding is that you want to assign a pool of managers to a given task, because you don't know who will be on shift/available to pick-up the task when the time comes.
I have heard similar requests for resource assignment, assigning a pool of resources to a task and whoever is available at the time will pick it up.
The best practice solution in that case is to assign a Role as a resource.

Similarly, I think a good enhancement would be to enable to assign a Role as a task manager, and anyone that holds this role can pick-up the task.

I would refrain from stating that a task should have multiple managers because at the given time the task will actually have a single manager. Accountability requires that a task should only have a single manager at any given point in time.

Note that Multi-Manager is coming later this year. Do not know the ETA so do not quote me. It is on the roadmap.
